On the Road Again
Driving through Des Moines - so far have logged 3685 miles in the car (78 hours) for this trip. It was great to spend time w Corey and Max - to see their apartment and enjoy their hospitality - I especially enjoyed the Swedish meatball dinner and watching Jim Gaffigan together. It was also a highlight to experience a young married ward - awesome talks, fun to see Max conducting, and enjoyed the unique experience of being in a "Noah's Ark" ward! Two by two:-)
Dinner out at GoodWood was fun with everyone - serious quantities - hopefully Max and Corey are still snacking on double dip chicken....
Got some idea of housing options at BYU and considering what we want to do regarding that...
Loved my time in peaceful and beautiful Eden - it truly is a relaxing and beautiful place to visit. I played lots of Mexican Train dominos with my mom and dad. Also worked on WaWa's book, not done yet but narrowing in on it.
Sam is really helping w the driving - it is so great to have him home. I know he enjoyed reconnecting with friends at the Y - and social life will be a little less exciting in Lakewood but Mitchell's starts on Saturday!
My cousin Jim Moran is in town this weekend - Dad had lunch w him today and he will be coming over Sunday night too.
Will get home to O-H-I-O tonight....I love you all!

Boat Night
My solo adventure continues. Tonight I went out on a boat with YaYa and Grandpa Dick and their friends on Pineview Reservoir. Afterwards we had a great picnic and played Mexican Train dominos. Now we are back home and planning to put a couple more hours into WaWa's book. It has been peaceful and relaxing but I miss all of you - and especially Dad. Big shout out to Luke for getting a 4.2 last quarter - so proud of him. Great way to head into that important Junior year. Fun to know that my grown up kids are getting to spend some time together in Provo learning to know each other AS adults - kinda weird to me that 3 of you are 18+. Sweet dreams to one and all from Miami to Lakewood to Provo from Eden. Love, Mom
My talents are in South Beach
All week here in Miami and I am ready to get home. The show has gone well! If the Heat win tonight this town will be bedlam all night long.
Love you guys,
Dad

Empty Nest FHE
So I am in Eden - solo with my Mom and Dad - and last night they hosted the "Empty Nester" FHE for their ward. I actually fit in for the evening! All my kids are elsewhere. As you can see by the post below - Soph is having a grand old time at EFY. Luke is very busy with soccer and solo owner (for the moment) of the Hyundai. Jack has added martial arts to his repertoire of summer classes at the Y. Sam checked out his apartment for the fall. Max and Corey are hosting Sam for the week. Tonight all the Provo DeBaltzo boys head to SLC for Collective Soul concert courtesy of Dad. Here is a thought starter - I need some ideas for family phrases, things we say and laugh about as a family. This is what I have so far..."Sit on your bottom", "Two whole fig newtons?", "I'm Winning," "Silly as a bone" - I need your help! I love you all - Mom Those of you with iphones get the blogger app and it is very easy to post pics and entries from your phone.

Sophie's first text from EFY
My cow.. Has blonde hair, a little swish in the front. Tan, 5 sisters. Okay. His face literally looks EXACTLY like justin biebers.. Legit. Not too tall, but not short. 14, kinda quite, but like when you talk to him he responds and will like chat. Has a really good singing voice! I sat next to him during the fhe.. He was my escort:) just really cute!
Sophie is at EFY
Sophie was so excited to go to EFY - and phew...it was not a big deal that she is on the cutting edge of eligibility...almost 14!

5 Little Ducks
"Went out to play, over the hills and far away - Mother Duck said, Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack - and all of her five little duckies came back..."
So there is the reason for this blog - As I face the week where I start to see the count of my "away" ducks becoming greater, I felt that it was truly time for our own family blog. I love the calls, the texts and any other communication you guys come up with - but I would love to have a record for our family as well and a place to share.
So - join in! I love you all - and I am never happier than when I know that you each are at peace and finding the good in life.
Love- Mom
