Hi family,
Sorry that Max and I have fallen so far behind in
blogging! I feel like our life is pretty hectic right now but I know
that many of you are much busier than we are so I'm willing to commit to
a weekly post. :)
Things are going really well for us this
semester. Max is working so hard with school and his TA job, I'm very
proud of him. On top of that, bishopric responsibilities add significant
time commitments to his schedule and he is much better at handling long
days than I am - he is never running on empty, but is always positive
and energetic! I look up to him for a lot of things, but that ability is
definitely on the list.
I love my job! We've hit our busiest
time of the year now and I spend most of my time trying to figure out
how to accomplish 60 hours of work in my allotted 40 hour work week but
it's super fun. I had my first ever performance review and my boss had
incredibly positive things to say about my work this year which was very
encouraging. I've taken on a couple of big projects with regards to
compensation and market research which is challenging and I'm really
enjoying learning all I can about the subject. Also, one of my big goals
for this year has been to establish myself as a trusted resource for
our Practice Managers and I think that I'm making good progress so far.
We'll see how things go as the year wraps up!
This next weekend
is kind of a bummer for me because it's Homecoming Weekend at Hope and
all of my good friends have made plans to attend this year. They've
rented a cottage for a few days and it sounds like it will be a blast. I
would love to be there, but we couldn't make it work this year and I'm
disappointed. Max and I have made "couple friends" out here in Utah, but
my close friends are all back east and I haven't gotten to see most of
them since our wedding. It's OK though, my hope is that I can convince
them all to commit to be there for our five year reunion when Max will
be done with school and we will be much more likely to attend. :)
Anyway,
we love you all and are very excited to see you at Thanksgiving time! I
hope all is well back in Ohio and wish you a happy conference weekend.
Love,
Corey
PS. Here are some pictures from the Grandparents' visit.
Wow COREY - so proud of the great job you ate doing at work - not surprised- but delighted to hear. Your ears would burn if you knew how often we talk about our awesome daughter-in-law and how lucky we all feel that Max found you at the right time - way to go!
